Summary

Ensure support of M2M development projects in a technical role based on the existing worldwide
supply chain platform and corporate strategy, supporting until the first serial machines. Strategy
includes logistical concepts as well as risk mitigation approaches for all key components.
Focus on the understanding of technical problems and scouting of solutions and propose them
throughout the different development stages, transferring the know-how from our supply chain
partners as well as screening of new market innovations to be applied on our current or future
products and services.
Proposed solutions should be designed to function, consider manufacturing technologies, and cost
optimised solutions. Furthermore, the role involves design inputs combined with manufacturing
optimisation for single components as well as assemblies.

Job Responsibilities

- Ensure the entire supply chain process as defined in the M2M process during the
development and prototyping phase of major equipment and systems, starting from
business plan, with the supply chain strategy (supported by senior M2M supply chain
engineer)
- Interdisciplinary cooperation in cross-divisional contexts, with development and
production as well as the associated specialist departments in the project environment,
active exchange in the team
- Project support for machine developments from supply chain perspective along the
phases (BP, CN, DD, IN) including aspect of: Logistic, own and third manufacturing
and manufacturing technologies
- Support of larger life cycle projects or product transfers, after the market introduction
phase
- Perform market studies and benchmarks to drive make-or-buy decisions according to
total cost principals, coordinated with all relevant stake holders, considering the
existing supplier base, the category strategy, the own production strategy, and new
potential suppliers
- Supplier validation and negotiation of contracts (engineering-, confidentiality-,
development-, framework- and quality agreement-contracts)
- Consulting in in design aspect such as design to cost, design to manufacturing, design
to logistic
- Audits of suppliers and sub sequent development of suppliers to reach the defined
quality level, responsible for the fulfilment of First Article Inspection
- Ensure compliance according to required worldwide norms such as food contact
material, electrical norms etc.
- Driver for standardization and reduction of complexity.
- Exchange with other procurement departments and lead buyers to exchange knowhow and adopt existing solutions
- Cost tracking along the phases of the M2M development process.
- Ensure risk mitigation with a proper 2nd source strategy
- Coordination of development partnerships with suppliers and internal departments.
- Maintenance of master data (audit reports, certificates, price lists) in the corresponding
systems prior product introduction

Qualifications

- Basic technical education or career
- Degree in mechanical and or electrical/software engineering from a university or university of
applied sciences
- Professional experience in industrial supply chains
- Ability to solve problems in a structured way
- Technical affinity
- Understanding of holistic correlations within the company and business management
interrelationship
- Negotiation’s skills and knowledge of contracts and laws
- Experience in execution of development projects
- English language skills at C1 and possibly other languages
- Proven IT skills (Office, Web applications, internet, SAP, CAD, PDM)
- Analytical skills and negotiation skills
- Problem structuring and problem-solving skills
- Cross-business unit thinking and acting
- Presentation skills with positive charisma
- Oriented towards the corporate supply chain strategy to secure competitive advantages for
the company and the customer
- Capability for cost tracking along the M2M process
- Selves driven and used to take decisions / ability to work in a team and deal with conflict
- Ability as consultant for the project team along the project stages
- Customer-oriented mind set, strong and focused implementation skills
