Summary

Join our team as an Onsite Support Engineer, where you'll play a key role in delivering successful equipment installations and ensuring long-term customer success. In this highly visible, customer-facing position, you'll lead onsite technical activities during equipment assembly, startup, and commissioning while serving as the primary expert for troubleshooting and resolving complex equipment issues. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise, take ownership of critical projects, and make a direct impact on customer operations and satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

•    Repair, install, troubleshoot, inspect and modify Bühler equipment at customer site during standard business hours.
•    Assess customer needs regarding maintenance, spare parts, modernization, and improvement of process.
•    Provide technical support externally and internally.
•    Develop, organize and provide customer training programs.
•    Promote Bühler Customer Service products and help the customer to plan future service.
•    On-call rotation for support outside of business hours.
•    Carry out repairs, modifications, inspections, overhauls, and preventive maintenance activities.
•    Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues in cooperation with the relevant engineering departments.
•    Train customer personnel in machine operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting procedures.
•    Support machine software updates and continuous improvement activities.
•    Prepare detailed service reports and submit weekly reports, emails, and required documentation in a timely manner.
•    Ensure professional representation of Bühler at customer sites.
•    Support customer projects and ensure high machine availability and operational performance.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor's in engineering or accredited technical degree or equivalent training or experience in a field of technology such as electrical, mechanical, vacuum technology, thin film, physics or similar field.
•    Previous field service experience or machine engineering is preferred.
•    5+ years of vacuum coating technology experience strongly preferred.
•    Demonstrates leadership as an effective role model for the department in tasks both internal and external to the company.    
•    Must be able to work under pressure.
•    Excellent negotiating skills.
•    Maintains discipline, recommending and administering corrective action according to company policy and procedures.
•    Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
•    Maintain valid driving license.
•    Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills in complex machinery and industrial systems.
•    Strong Knowledge of PLC programming, Allen Bradley is an advantage.
•    Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and service documentation.
•    Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
•    Friendly, professional, and open-minded personality with a serious and customer-focused attitude.
•    Reliable, accountable, and committed to delivering high-quality service.
•    Strong communication skills with clear and effective verbal and written communication.
•    Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.
•    Independent, organized, and solution-oriented working style.
•    High level of flexibility, adaptability, and resilience under demanding conditions.
•    Team-oriented approach with the ability to collaborate across departments and cultures.
•    Readiness for long-term assignments, including continuous stays of up to 2 years at customer sites.
•    Ability to travel nationally and internationally.
•    Flexibility regarding working hours, locations, and project requirements.
