Summary

The Procurement Engineer serves as the primary procurement partner for the Die Casting Engineering and Project Execution teams in North America. This role is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and procuring equipment, engineered systems, customized components, and technical services for customer projects. The position oversees suppliers throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring commercial, contractual, quality, cost, delivery, and performance objectives are achieved while supporting successful project execution and customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute procurement and sourcing strategies that support project objectives, drive cost savings, optimize supplier performance, and ensure effective project execution.
  • Build, evaluate, negotiate, and manage a global network of suppliers and service providers for equipment, engineered systems, customized components, installation, automation, commissioning, and related technical services.
  • Lead competitive sourcing activities including RFQs, bid evaluations, supplier selection, contract negotiations, and make-versus-buy analyses, ensuring the best balance of cost, quality, delivery, and technical capability.
  • Oversee suppliers throughout the full project lifecycle, coordinating with engineering, project management, quality, logistics, site teams, and customers to manage schedules, risks, deliverables, performance, and compliance requirements.
  • Administer supplier agreements, audits, contract changes, claims, invoice approvals, and performance improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with contractual, safety, regulatory, and customer requirements; travel as needed to support supplier and project activities.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Several years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supplier management, supply chain, or project procurement, preferably within industrial equipment, engineered systems, manufacturing, or capital project environments.
    • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships, negotiate and administer contracts, oversee technical service providers, and support installation, integration, commissioning, or other field service activities.
    • Strong knowledge of project-based procurement, commercial negotiations, supplier performance management, cost analysis, risk assessment, contract modifications, and regulatory, quality, and safety compliance requirements
    • Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications; excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
