Summary

Bühler Group, located in Johannesburg, South Africa, is seeking a dedicated advisor to become part of our team as Health & Safety Officer.  This position will be responsibe to implement, monitor, and support Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) activities across the Bühler BSAF region, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, company standards, and safe working practices.

 

Job Responsibilities

 
  • Manage all administrative duties relating to the SHE office.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the SHE Manager on all SHE documentation, including updates, reviews, and approval processes.
  • Coordinate employee medical examinations and ensure all medical records are maintained accurately and kept up to date.
  • Assist in the preparation, compilation, and ongoing maintenance of safety files
  • Support the scheduling and coordination of SHE-related training activities.
  • Process and manage orders for specialized PPE as required.
  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the ISO 45001 management system.
  • Assist with the review and updating of risk assessments.
  • Participate in internal incident and accident investigations, including documentation and follow-up actions.
  • Monitor and support Health and Safety compliance across various departments.

Qualifications

  • Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • SAMTRAC certification is essential.
  • Training in incident investigation, hazard identification, and root cause analysis.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in a SHE / Health and Safety environment.
  • A valid Code 8 driver’s licence.
  • Good working knowledge of the OHS Act, its regulations, and the COID Act.
  • Additional SHE-related qualifications will be considered an advantage.
