Summary

Bühler Group, located in Johannesburg, South Africa, is seeking a dedicated technician to become part of our team as a Junior IT Technician. This position provides the chance to deliver technical support, resolve hardware and software problems, and maintain the seamless functioning of IT systems.

Job Responsibilities

Incident and Change Management

  • 1st and 2nd level support for local users
  • handling changes in compliance with the corporate’s change process

Operational tasks

  • Setting up client computers by means of the corporate’s OS deployment routine
  • Software installation by means of the corporate’s distribution system
  • Delivery and set-up of electronic workplaces at the user’s location, including LAN network connection
  • Delivery and set-up of local network printers
  • Maintaining printers and other peripheral devices
  • Relocation of workplaces, printers or other peripheral devices
  • Retiring outdated devices (client computers, printers, other peripheral devices) in compliance with the country’s environmental laws
  • First Level Network management
  • Ordering of mobile phones
  • Communication and ordering with mobile carrier
  • 1st level support (e.g. Device Lock, eMail sync,)
  • Setting up mobile devices by means of the corporate instructions
  • Asset management
  • Recording new asset items (computers, printers, peripheral devices)
  • Maintaining and keeping up to date the local server system, client computer, printer and accessory assets (status, expiry dates, service tags, etc.)
  • Accountability of all IT assets – Physical and system wise match
  • Audits – Regular audit reporting
  • Collaboration in IT projects

Qualifications

  • Grade 12
  • Relevant National Diploma / Degree (Btech) in IT
  • 2 years IT support experience
