Job Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the R&D department across multiple teams (Mechanical Engineering and Application Center), drive structured troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Ensure quality and functionality across the portfolio by sustainably resolving design quality issues and preventing their recurrence, drive structured troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Inspire a strong innovation culture in R&D, leading the team to create customer value and stay ahead of the market.
- Create an environment where team members can excel, grow their potential, and develop innovative solutions.
- Identify and assign resources for M2M projects and team responsibilities, ensuring balanced workloads and effective collaboration across teams and entities within the Bühler group.
- Be responsible for timely and accurate forecasting, identifying risks and opportunities, as well as monitoring and controlling department and project costs and budgets.
- Drive standardization, modularity incl. MTO/ATO data structures, and reduce complexity in our solutions and portfolio.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and high data quality across the portfolio, including team projects, tasks, and PPM.
- Retain and develop key knowledge across the organization while providing regular project updates, ad-hoc analyses, and presentations.
Qualifications
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with a strong ability to coach and mentor team members while fostering creativity and innovation within the team.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, sound judgment, and effective decision-making. Able to identify and manage risks and to moderate meetings, risk analyses, and reviews.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders inside and outside the company.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and complex situations while maintaining attention to detail and a clear focus on the bigger picture.
- Strong cross-disciplinary understanding across all M2M tracks, with a customer-focused and market-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization within an international environment.
- General project management skills, including scheduling, cost planning and tracking, with solid business and financial knowledge.
