Legal Counsel

Summary

Buhler Inc. is seeking to hire a Legal Counsel who will report to its General Counsel. As a key business and legal partner, this position is responsible for providing legal support and risk management to Buhler Inc. including internal departments, sales team, local and global leadership, and business units. 

Job Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to the General Counsel to support all regional compliance, legal, regulatory, transactional, and other business matters as they arise 
• Provide legal advice on legal and regulatory issues and federal and state laws and regulations 
• Appropriately manage significant legal risks while achieving the business objectives 
• Develop templates and provide training to business leaders  
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of agreements including agent agreements, frame agreements, supply agreements, sales agreements and terms and conditions 
• Assist Human Resources with legal issues related to employment, immigration, and compliance matters 
• Collaborate and support Buhler entities with business matters including contract negotiation and compliance 
• Support insurance and corporate governance matters including preparing and maintaining corporate governance filings and registrations 
• Manage miscellaneous projects and reports

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree and  3-5  years practicing as an attorney  
• Excels in working independently and proactively with minimal direction, strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and balance competing projects and responsibilities in a fast-paced and diverse global organization 
• Excellent interpersonal communication and relationship building skills to effectively work with a variety of people and personalities; able to communicate clearly and effectively in person and in writing internally and externally 
• A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance
