Summary
As Sales Account Manager for Automation & Digital Services, you will play a key role in driving the growth of Bühler’s digital and automation solutions. In this customer‑facing role, you’ll work closely with Sales Leadership to turn strategy into action by developing sales plans, building strong customer partnerships, and delivering results that support Bühler’s long‑term goals.
You’ll take ownership of identifying customer needs, shaping tailored solutions, and guiding customers through the value of Bühler’s digital offerings. By combining strategic thinking with hands‑on sales execution, you’ll help expand our market presence, resolve complex challenges, and consistently achieve sales targets.

Job Responsibilities
- Fosters customer relationships, develops and establishes new accounts
- Contacts Customers, collects information, negotiates contracts
- Communicates and participates in solving problems related to customer orders or concerns
- Collects market data (customer and competition) that show the need of the businesses and industries within the region
- Meets Automation sales budget (order intake) for Region North America
- Participates in and contributes to strategic business development of automation products and digital services
- Monitors and supports Automation project quotations with technical expertise, prepares quotes as needed
- Cooperation, coordination and solution finding with Automation Engineering teams with 30+ engineers in matrix organization
- Drives Automation retrofit initiatives and supports management in strategic projects
- Responsible to capture market requirements and regional product management with feedback to R&D teams
- Continuous refreshing/updating of product knowledge
- Prepares SOM report and maintains CRM database
- Prepares SWOT analysis as needed for Mid Term Planning and budget planning
- Attends and participates in trade shows, exhibitions and industry associations
- Must arrive to work predictably and promptly
- Manages miscellaneous projects and completes various tasks as needed
Qualifications
- 10 years experience in project planning, design and execution
- Deep knowledge of process control systems, SCADA, MES, SCADA, and PLC
- Working knowledge of electrical hardware design and electric code
- Bachelor’s degree in Process Automation or equivalent a plus
- Advanced MS Office skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- SAP experience pereferred
- CRM experience preferred
- Strong customer relationship, sales and negotiating skills
- Sufficient technical knowledge of products to be sold
- Strong Process automation knowledge
- Understanding of customer plant operations and production metrics in commodity, food and feed production
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and relationship building skills
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to plan, prioritize, coordinate, delegate, and manage work simultaneously
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and make decisions independently, effectively, and creatively within established company guidelines
- Understands confidential nature of organizational and employee information and observes confidentiality
- Ability to identify, evaluate, problem solve, and give direction regarding problem resolutions for individual and company issues, at strategic and functional level
- Maintains discipline, recommending and administering corrective action according to company policy and procedures
- Speaks and understands English
- Spanish language skills a plus
- Domestic and international travel ~50% time which may include long hours and non-traditional work schedules
