Join our dynamic team as a Sales Account Manager and become a key player in shaping the future of the grain industry! In this role, you'll be driving the promotion and sales of Bühler's innovative Wheat and Rye equipment across the US territory. Your mission will be to craft and execute sales strategies, engage with both existing and potential clients, and uncover their unique needs to deliver tailored solutions. You'll spearhead the development of both existing and new business opportunities while gathering invaluable market insights. Job Responsibilities

  • Direct sales, promoting and selling the Buhler equipment and related equipment in a defined geography 
  • Develop and implement a sales plan for market and account coverage  
  • Prospecting, identifying new customers and working with existing owners to ensure that Buhler machinery is top of mind for all new projects 
  • Manages and maintains assigned accounts and key accounts
  • Fosters customer relationships 
  • Develops and establishes new accounts 
  • Customer contact, collecting information, negotiating contracts 
  • Communicates and participates in solving problems related to customer orders or concerns 
  • Collects market data (customer and competition) that show the need of the businesses and industries within the territory 
  • Generating enquiries, filling out internal RFQ’s and presenting quotes and proposals to the customer 
  • Close sales to meet or exceed a sales quota 
  • Attend trade shows as required, attend customer FATs, in Europe and travel to customer sites as required 60-70% of the time 
  • Attend trainings in Europe as needed 
  • File customer contact reports, call reports and other pertinent information in a CRM 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent  
  • Background in Food/Agriculture industry strongly preferred  
  • Strong mechanical/technical acumen desired 
  • 5+ years selling capital goods to the food industry 
  • Attention to detail 
  • Excellent organization, interpersonal communication skills and relationship building skills to effectively work with a variety of people and personalities; able to communicate clearly and effectively in person and in writing internally and externally 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite  
  • Strong market and commercial awareness 
  • Ability to build relationships internally and externally while working across time zones and cultures 
  • A sales leader who can inspire others 
  • Experience in key account management and directing key account sales teams  
  • Interpersonal - considers the needs and feelings of others and appropriately responds to different situations 
  • Maintains discipline, recommending and administering corrective action according to company policy and procedures 
  • Advanced MS Office skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook 
  • Oral and Written Communication - presents information, analysis, and ideas in writing in a clear and concise manner; speaks clearly so that others can hear and understand what is being said 
  • Speaks and understands English, German and/or Spanish a plus 
  • Domestic and international travel 65% of time which may include long hours and non-traditional work schedules
