Summary

Join our team as a Buyer and play a key role in ensuring our operations have the materials and components needed to succeed. In this role, you'll build supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and lead times, source quality components, and help keep products moving through the supply chain. Reporting to the Materials Manager, you'll have a direct impact on cost, delivery performance, and overall business success.

Job Responsibilities

· Using the purchasing queue, place purchase orders based on due dates and company need.

· Follow up on order acknowledgments, late orders, shipping information to ensure part availability for manufacturing.

· Work closely with Materials Manager to ensure accuracy of vendor, item and financial information.

· Identify and evaluate purchase price variances, compare purchase price versus standard cost, and update as needed.

· Resolve invoice discrepancies

· Read prints and determine best souring option.

· Compile print packages for quoting.

· Use Excel to review BOM/Stock discrepancies

· Assist with inventory control, including physical and cycle counting.

· Provide backup to peers in Operations.

· Provide guidance of the MRP system to less experienced users.

Qualifications

· 3-5 years of technical purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with parts machining and/or vacuum level assembly is highly desired.

· ISM Certification is a plus.

· Proficient software skills, Outlook, Word, Excel; Made2Manage or equivalent ERP system a plus

· Accuracy with data entry and detail oriented.

· Experience in machining or manufacturing industry is preferred.

· Ability to read prints and understand manufacturing processes needed to produce.

· Flexible, willingness to be able to adapt to change.

· MS Office proficiency.

· Must be willing to work in a cross functional team environment.

· Must have strong organizational skills.
