Summary
Buhler Group in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is looking for a passionate Project Engineer to support customers with project execution, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and optimization of Bühler machines and systems. This role is responsible for coordinating projects from handover through completion, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution while managing technical requirements, subcontractors, customer expectations, documentation, and project risks.
Job Responsibilities
- Take ownership of assigned projects following handover from Sales, Customer Service, or Order Management.
- Review contracts, quotations, technical specifications, scope of supply, commercial conditions, exclusions, responsibilities, and project risks.
- Develop and maintain project execution plans covering engineering, procurement, logistics, installation, commissioning, and handover.
- Define and monitor project milestones, deliverables, timelines, resources, and dependencies.
- Coordinate project activities from order confirmation through customer acceptance and project closure.
- Monitor project progress, costs, schedules, deliveries, and contractual obligations, taking corrective action when required.
- Ensure project deliverables meet contractual requirements, Bühler standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations.
- Coordinate internal and external project meetings and ensure timely follow-up of actions.
- Maintain accurate and complete project documentation.
- Coordinate customers, internal teams, subcontractors, and service providers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Support the selection, qualification, onboarding, and performance management of subcontractors and service providers.
- Prepare and/or review scopes of work and coordinate subcontractor mobilization, including site access, permits, tools, equipment, and resources.
- Support project budgeting, cost control, invoicing, and payment milestone tracking.
- Identify and manage technical, commercial, schedule, quality, and site risks.
- Identify potential service, upgrade, and modernization opportunities based on customer requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Approximately 3–5 years of experience in project engineering, service projects, installation, commissioning, maintenance, or industrial project execution.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and site contractors.
- Experience managing project schedules, milestones, costs, deliveries, and contractual requirements.
- Experience in industrial equipment, food processing, grain handling, milling, feed, consumer foods, manufacturing, or a related industry is an advantage.
- Experience with service contracts or preventive-maintenance agreements is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, layouts, P&IDs, technical specifications, and equipment documentation.
- Understanding of installation, commissioning, maintenance, and industrial service processes.
- Basic knowledge of project budgeting, cost control, invoicing, and payment milestones.
- Knowledge of site safety requirements, risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project-scheduling tools; familiarity with ERP, CRM, and project-management systems is an advantage.
- Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
- Project management training or certification is an advantage.
