Role Summary
The role will lead the Global Business Services (GBS) accounting organization. In addition to managing a team of finance professionals, the role will be directly responsible for Record-to-Report (R2R) activities for a designated country portfolio. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, technical accounting expertise, and a continuous improvement mindset to ensure high-quality service delivery and compliance with Group Accounting standards.
Job Responsibilities
Global Business Services (GBS) Team Manager
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Record-to-Report (R2R) teams within the GBS Accounting organization.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, Group Accounting policies, and relevant financial regulations.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Drive process improvements, automation, and standardization across GBS finance activities.
- Monitor team performance metrics and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities to team members.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and SAS Offices within SEA region and Singapore regional office.
- Support finance transformation initiatives, including SAP enhancements and system implementations.
Record-to-Report
- Deliver operational Record-to-Report (R2R) services in line with service level agreements and internal controls.
- Collaborate closely with the Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP) teams, and local legal entity Finance Manager to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Perform general ledger and asset accounting activities, including journal entries and depreciation runs.
- Execute period-end closing tasks, including preparation of balance sheet schedules and account reconciliations.
- Review staff expense claims and intercompany third-party payment runs prepared by the AP team.
- Support Legal Entity Finance Manager to prepare statutory tax reports etc.
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting/Chartered Accountant or ACCA equivalent
- Minimum 10 years’ working experience in accounting.
- Team leadership experience, minimum 5 years’ experience leading accounting/finance teams.
- Proven people management skills, including goal setting, performance reviews, coaching, and mentoring.
- Experience in workload planning, task delegation, and capacity/resource management.
- Accounting qualified with extensive experience in a senior shared services role within a large dynamic organization.
- High proficiency in IFRS accounting standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Proficient in use of SAP & Onestream system.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong stakeholder management
