Summary
As a Department Manager Customer Projects, you are at the core of our business: executing projects for our customers. You will be a member of the Milling Solutions Project Execution Management, leading teams with project managers, project engineers and designers as well as a wide range of different stakeholders. It will be in your hands to develop the department and to deliver important projects within the negotiated framework and requirements, always keeping quality, customer relations as well as an optimal margin in sight.
As a Department Manager you will be responsible for the execution of customer projects and the management of all aspects of the appointed Project Execution group for Grains and Pulses, consisting of approx. 12 employees, define priorities, and nominate staff for projects and assignments.
Job Responsibilities
- You ensure seamless project execution and close cooperation with various internal departments and stakeholders (Automation, Shipping, Technology, Commercial Management, Sales, Customer Service, R&D, and Product Management)
- You support the Project Execution Team and Project Managers in controlling schedules and costs, forecasting risks and opportunities, developing corrective action plans, and escalating issues as appropriate
- You ensure proper workload balancing across the different Business Areas and international PE locations, and provide training and development opportunities to build and maintain world-class Project Execution capabilities
- You monitor the progress of projects within the portfolio, ensure scope completeness, consistency, and technical integrity, and maintain effective risk management and change control processes
- You drive the development and implementation of project management lessons learned and best practices from ongoing projects across locations, and ensure that complaints are registered and sustainably resolved
- You maintain regular contact with customers to develop solutions and support our global service and sales organizations during the sales and quotation phases
- You collaborate on the further development of engineering platforms and standards, and support and implement new structures and strategies
- You actively participate in strategy development and implementation for the GP business unit, which consists of three segments: oats, maize, and pulses
Qualifications
- Technical degree from a university of applied sciences (or equivalent training) with further education in business administration and leadership
- Leadership experience in matrix organisations
- Experience in construction and plant engineering
- Proven skills in plant projects with EPCM character in an international environment with experience in contract and claim management
- Strong planning, organizational and priority setting skills, with a proven ability to manage intercultural teams
- Business fluent in German and English and very good communication skills at all levels
- Open to international travel of approx. 10 - 20%
