Summary
As Department Manager, Quotation and Sales Support, you will work closely with our international sales force to develop competitive customer offerings. You will define project scope baselines, assess and mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement by embedding lessons learned. You will be part of Milling Solutions Project Execution Management, leading a team of bid managers, quotation engineers, and pricing experts, collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders to deliver winning proposals.
Job Responsibilities
- You lead the Milling Solutions Quotation and Sales Support Department with approximately 20 FTE, including capacity planning, resource allocation, and workload balancing; you budget and monitor your department’s cost center
- You structure, prioritize, and govern quotation pipelines for the Milling Solutions business area across two business units and their segments; you lead the weekly quotation conference
- You engage regularly with customers to co-develop competitive technical-commercial solutions and support global Sales and Service organizations throughout the sales and quotation phases
- You manage complex plant tender proposals end-to-end in coordination with internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring scope, risk, and compliance control, while developing complete proposal packages including presentations, process flowcharts, plant layouts, visualizations, schedules, costings, and other project-specific deliverables
- You provide subject-matter support to international quotation teams on business-area-specific topics, standards, and best practices
- You own and maintain quotation configurator (NAVIGATOR) standards and pricing logic (SAP/PLC), ensuring data integrity and continuous improvement; you ensure pricing updates are maintained on time
- You support NAVIGATOR configurator builder teams in various service organizations, act as the quality gate for new configurators, and regularly exchange with Product Management to align priorities
- You drive team and process development, including capability building, process optimization, and the implementation of new organizational structures and strategies
Qualifications
- Technical degree from a university of applied sciences (or equivalent training) with further education in business administration and leadership
- Leadership experience in matrix organizations
- Experience in construction and plant engineering
- Proven skills in plant projects with EPCM character in an international environment
- Strong planning, organizational and priority setting skills, with a proven ability to manage intercultural teams
- Business fluent in German and English and very good communication skills at all levels
- Open to international travel of approx. 10 - 20%
