Mechanical Development Engineer - Simulation

Summary

As a Mechanical Development Engineer – Simulation, you will play a key role in developing and optimizing structural components and assemblies for our die-casting machines. Working closely with design engineers and multidisciplinary R&D teams, you will apply state-of-the-art simulation technologies to evaluate function, structural integrity and fatigue life. Your analyses will provide a reliable basis for technical decisions, innovative product designs, customer-specific solutions, and the continuous development of our simulation methods and standards.

Job Responsibilities

• You lead structural simulation activities throughout early development phases and independently execute simulation projects using state-of-the-art methods such as FEM, CFD, and system simulation
• You collaborate closely with design engineers and international, multidisciplinary project teams to develop, evaluate, and optimize technical concepts, structural components, and assemblies
• You validate simulation results, perform the necessary plausibility checks, and translate your findings into clear and actionable engineering recommendations
• You support customer-specific solutions, root-cause analyses, and damage consequence analyses while ensuring compliance with applicable international regulations, standards, and internal quality requirements
• You continuously develop simulation methods, tools, processes, and internal standards, while ensuring transparent, comprehensive, and reproducible documentation of results

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Science, or a related technical discipline
• At least five years of professional experience in mechanical engineering and at least three years of hands-on experience with simulation technologies, particularly finite element methods
• Profound knowledge of structural mechanics, manufacturing technologies, and simulation methods, ideally combined with experience using ANSYS Workbench respectively comparable engineering tools
• Experience with 3D CAD systems, preferably Siemens NX
• Strong analytical and project management skills combined with a structured, proactive, and solution-oriented working style; fluent English skills are required, while German is considered an advantage
