Summary

Bühler is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Strategic Buyer to join our customer service procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, leading, and executing the sourcing strategy and procurement activities to deliver cost savings and quality improvements. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of the market dynamics and supply chain management. 

Job Responsibilities

  • You will develop and execute a procurement strategy to continuously reduce the total cost of ownership and improve the quality, standards, and delivery performance of the services and products purchased.
  • You will negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery, and quality.
  • You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services. Additionally, you will identify and evaluate potential suppliers, and conduct supplier audits, visits, and evaluations.
  • You will monitor market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for cost savings and innovation.
  • You will manage supplier relationships to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
  • You will track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • You will support and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all procurement activities.

Qualifications

  • You have a technical and/or business degree (FH/Uni) or vocational qualification with appropriate further training and professional experience
  • You need a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in a strategic buying role.
  • You possess strong negotiation and contract management skills. 
  • You have experience in supplier evaluation and relationship management.
  • You have strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • You are proficient in procurement software and MS Office Suite and ERP (SAP) 
  • Your language skills in German and English are on a professional level
