Summary

As Team Lead R&D Software within Bühler’s Business Area Chocolate & Flavor Creation, you will lead a team responsible for developing, programming and maintaining the software for our machines throughout their entire life cycle. Together with your team, you will ensure that our PLC, HMI and safety solutions are robust, high-performing, scalable and seamlessly integrated into our machine platforms. In this role, you will combine technical automation expertise with leadership responsibility. You will guide and coach a team of engineers and developers, ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget and in the required quality, and help shape the future standards of our machine control solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- You lead, coach and develop a team of automation engineers and developers in the R&D environment
- You ensure the successful delivery of PLC and automation-related tasks in machine development projects, meeting quality, timeline and budget requirements
- You drive the development, standardization and reuse of robust PLC, HMI and safety-related machine control solutions
- You plan resources, manage priorities and create transparency on project progress, risks and bottlenecks
- You collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as Product Management, R&D, Supply Chain, Customer Service and global platform teams to improve automation quality and machine performance
Qualifications
- Degree in automation, electrical engineering, software engineering, IT or a comparable technical field
- Several years of experience in automation, PLC software development, machine control or a related engineering discipline
- Experience in leading or coordinating technical teams in development or engineering projects
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming, HMI integration, machine control concepts and ideally safety-related automation
- Structured and solution-oriented working style with strong communication skills in German and English and the ability to motivate and develop people
